Booking Clerk
STATUS: Regular Full-Time CUPE

SALARY: $25.68 - $30.19 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced customer service environment? This regular full time Booking Clerk position involves public contact and clerical work in reviewing, coordinating and processing requests from a variety of community and sports groups for bookings in a variety of City and joint School District facilities. This position also provides information and assistance regarding facility user fees and terms of rental contracts, liaises with other department and facility staff.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school graduation including, or supplemented by, courses in commercial, typing, records keeping, and word processing subjects, plus sound related experience preferably in a Public Service Agency; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Provides factual information, assistance and advice to the public and other departments regarding department services, functions and procedures.
- Performs facility, grounds, parks and school bookings for various public and private user groups. Implements, confirms and executes contracts and insurance for same as required.
- May act as cashier/clerk/receptionist for front desk as directed by a supervisor.
- Maintains a variety of office records and files utilizing computerized booking systems; performs incidental typing duties.
- Coordinates invoicing and collection of fees for facilities and fields.
- Organizes and attends user group meetings.
- Completes standard forms and dispatches to appropriate department.
- Assists in the inputting of record information to the Records System.
- Performs related work as required.
- Sound knowledge of the services, functions, procedures, by-laws and regulations governing applicable
- department operations and activities as they relate to the work performed.
- Sound knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and other departments in providing factual information and assistance on matters related to the work.
- Ability to perform clerical and incidental typing assignments and to operate a computer terminal.
- Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations applicable to the work.
- Ability to operate office equipment related to the work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using Perfect Mind software would be an asset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hours of work are governed by Schedule B (I) – based on a thirty-five (35) hour week under Article 12.01, which may work any seven (7) hours or part thereof between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday inclusive, without shift differential.
