The opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Registrar and Director of Service & Records, this position oversees the day-to-day operations of Records and Services in the Registrar’s Office. The Manager, Registrar’s Office Operations is responsible for managing staff on the Service and Records Team, including hiring, onboarding, facilitating training, and performance management. This position is also responsible for the delivery of services to both students and staff, including serving as an escalation point for challenging situations, and ensuring appropriate staffing for special functions such as convocation and Photo ID Pop-Up locations.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution required.
  • Three (3) years of related experience working in a post-secondary environment required.
  • One to three years of supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures are an asset.
  • Experience in the functioning of the University of Manitoba's Aurora Student system is preferred.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent skills in Word, Excel, Access and Outlook required.
  • Working knowledge of Internet Explorer or Chrome required.
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, including successfully resolving conflicts required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others required.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure from deadlines and with many enquiries required.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize the work of others required.
  • Ability to explain rules and regulations staff is required.
  • Ability to deal effectively with all levels of staff required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills required.
  • Ability to deal respectfully with sensitive and confidential matters required.
  • Ability to work confidentially with discretion using tact, patience, and courtesy required.
  • Expert level knowledge of rules and regulations of the University as well as those specific to Faculties/Schools is preferred.
  • Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
