The Dalla Lana School of Public Health is a Faculty of the University of Toronto that originated as one of the Schools of Hygiene begun by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1927. Your opportunity:

As Research Administrative Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting a variety of administrative initiatives utilizing your grant administration expertise. You will be verifying that the information on funding agency formsmeet funding criteria along with maintaining information on our website. Your exceptional communication, organizational and critical thinking skills, coupled with your strong attention to detail will be key to your success in this role.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Verifying research funding proposals are complete, accurate and adhere to sponsor guidelines
  • Liaising with agencies, collaborators, industry sponsors, faculty and other stakeholders regarding funding applications
  • Providing detailed information on upcoming funding and report requirements and deadlines
  • Tracking and monitoring research activities including information on project progress
  • Conducting literature reviews
  • Analyzing results and preparing statistical reports for research papers
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms, filing systems, databases and generating reports
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items as well as taking and distributing meeting minutes


Essential Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years relevant grant administration experience
  • Experience with funding agency eligibility, funding cycles from application to project delivery and relevant reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with grant application process
  • Knowledge or skills in Statistical analysis: SPSS
  • Experience updating and managing databases
  • Experience providing administrative support, including coordinating meetings, drafting meeting materials and minute taking
  • Proficiency in withMicrosoft Office suite and data storage tools
  • Excellent organizational, time management, administrative, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills (written and verbal), with ability to work independently but also effectively as part of a multi-professional project team.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, and to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple processes
  • Exercises good judgment, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
