What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:


  • This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing Loss Prevention metrics and trends to provide the LP Investigations team with actionable data and insight. Facilitates the delivery of prioritized data, dashboards, and reports to support the initiation and/or execution of investigations in alignment with LP objectives to reduce loss and mitigate shrink.
  • Responsible for using and maintaining the resources of the Loss Prevention Systems Investigations Support and Analytics team (including Refund Authorization System, Exception Reports, etc.); responsible for conducting analysis and delivering prioritized data, dashboards, statistics, and reports to LP partners to assist investigations.
  • Produces high-quality leads using business intelligence and disseminates to investigations team to support their efforts in reducing and preventing shrink, theft, fraud, and other losses.
  • Analyzes suspected and proven incidents of theft, fraud, and other losses, and disseminates findings to the appropriate members of LP for investigation and resolution.
  • Provides investigative, technical, and training support to field LP; builds investigative capability and supports achievement of LP objectives.
  • Supports the LP Analysis Supervisor and LP Remote Investigations Supervisor with documentation, training, systems administration, the development, and exploration of LP data. Maintains accurate records and statistics related to investigations and criminal activity.
  • Ensures proper handling and containment of highly sensitive, and confidential information and data (i.e. dishonest Associate Management).
  • Provides theft related data metrics to LP investigations partners to support the effective allocation and scheduling of LP resources to meet business needs.


What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:


  • Previous experience in retail investigations and progressive business intelligence and/or data analysis related to providing actionable data that supports theft investigations.
  • Post-Secondary Education or equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in the use of investigations related software and exception-based reporting tools.
  • Strong computer skills including knowledge of and ability to use computer software such as Microsoft Office, databases, web-based tools, email, etc.
  • Must possess strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills; demonstrated ability to leverage prior experiences and adapt quickly to the changing work environment and needs of the business. Quickly assess requirements, accurately describe problems, and provide solutions with cost implications to effectively resolve issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including interviewing, negotiating, listening, conflict management, information gathering and coaching; with ability to influence business partners to help prioritize activities and resources to meet the organization needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor.
  • Knowledge of the national retail landscape and market trends to support the development of future strategies; a solid understanding of business tools and reports to make business recommendations.
