Under supervision of the Director, Student Services and External Relations, the Student Services Assistant will provide front-line administrative support to all members of the Student Services team. The incumbent will liaise with prospective students, applicants, current students, alumni, staff and other stakeholders to provide a broad range of student services, admission and program support. Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and solid organizational and interpersonal skills will be key to ensuring the effective operation of the Student Services Team.

Your responsibilities will include:


  • Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
  • Updating and maintaining records
  • Writing routine documents and correspondence
  • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of documents
  • Maintaining documentation relating to applications and admissions
  • Providing detailed information to students on program and/or course requirements
  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate


Essential Qualifications:


  • College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience providing front-line/administrative support in a student services environment
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy, particularly when dealing with sensitive or confidential information
  • Ability to work in a busy front-line environment
  • Excellent demonstrated customer service orientation
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in completing and maintaining detailed, accurate records

  • Ability to act with sensitivity and empathy when responding to diverse groups of individuals
