Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM) to enhance our Facilities team. The AFM is responsible for overseeing the facilities department for Century Mile Racetrack and Casino (located near the Edmonton International Airport).

The AFM provides guidance and leadership under the direction of the Facilities Manager for Century Resorts Alberta. Century Mile Racetrack and Casino is a beautiful 4 year old building that has a gaming area, restaurants, meeting rooms, racetrack and barns.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as a co-operative member of the casino's leadership team.
  • Ensuring the building’s mechanical equipment is performing at an efficient level.
  • Ensure department operates in compliance with AGLC and all relevant laws.
  • Able to perform all duties and tasks associated with building maintenance and repair.
  • Know all fire, life and safety procedures and take all means necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees in an emergency.
  • Implement an effective preventative maintenance program.
  • Review service or maintenance contracts for competitive pricing.
  • Attend to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs and check for deficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manages employees at multiple sites as required. Indirectly manages the on-site contractors hired through the Facilities Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated maintenance management experience and directing employees in maintenance operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years of experience managing properties. Hands-on cleaning, construction, and maintenance experience are an asset.

OTHER

Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Must possess a valid Alberta driver's license.

This is an on-call position, and the incumbent will be required to respond to after-hours calls for managing emergencies and after-hours staff.
