Job Summary:

The Asst. Service Manager is tasked with ensuring the dealership's service department runs in a customer-friendly, productive, and profitable manner. This is accomplished by cultivating relationships with customers, optimizing productivity, creating a positive work atmosphere, and managing the department's resources effectively. The Asst. Service Manager reports directly to the Service Manager and Fixed Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Have a “Customer first” and “Fix it right the first time” approach
  • Do everything in your power to make the customer's service experience as pleasurable as possible.
  • Address any circumstance or condition that compromises the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership or notify dealership management of it.
  • Educate the service employees how to respond appropriately to misunderstandings and complaints from customers.
  • Ensure that every service employee approaches every client with courtesy and respect.
  • Handle customer complaints that demand management’s attention tactfully, promptly and with genuine concern for the customer’s problem
  • Ensure that all the necessary service operation equipment is available, properly maintained and in safe working condition
  • Understand and monitor any changes on the Dealership's financial statement's service section.
  • Develop and implement budget plans for service personnel and other costs typically handled by the service department.
  • Review “Monthly Parts & Service Quality Control Summary” for repeat problems or other patterns and take corrective action
  • Confident in their approach with customers to negotiate win-win
  • Conduct vehicle walk-around to record any vehicle damage and to check for any areas that may require attention such as lights, wipers and tires
  • Obtain properly documented telephone approval for all additional needed repairs.
  • Record lost service sales
  • Meet or exceed department sales objectives set by management
  • Review repair orders to ensure the final price matches the quoted price
  • Inspect every completed vehicle to ensure it is ready to be returned to customer
  • Know and understand the distributor’s warranty policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with recent drivers abstract
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relations with customers and staff by providing courteous, efficient and professional service.
  • Above average computer knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Experience:

  • Automotive Experience: 5 years (required)
  • Dealership: 3 year (preferred)
  • Assistant or Service Manager: 3-5 years (preferred)

Schedule:

  • Working hours Monday to Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Weekend working hours 8:00am to 5:00pm (rotation basis) 4 days off in every pay-period Bi-Weekly.
