If you answered yes, our Whiteshell Laboratories (WL) site located near Pinawa, Manitoba is looking for a Shuttle Bus Driver to to join the WL Maintenance team. WL Maintenance Planning & Work Management (WL MPWM) provides decommissioning, manufacturing, construction, maintenance and decommissioning services to site customers, and work management across the WL site. This includes supporting WL Nuclear Facilities, the WL Projects and non-CNL tenants. Under the direction of the Section Head, the shuttle bus driver performs safe and efficient operation of site shuttle buses and fleet vehicles, providing transport to site maintenance and decommissioning projects and other associated departments. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) employees perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety and regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures (i.e. utilizing personal protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifying management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.

What will you be doing?

· Safely and efficiently operate site shuttle buses, passenger vans and other site vehicles as assigned.

· Performing pre and post trip checks of unit each trip and completing required vehicle logbooks.

· Making judgments on the working condition of equipment, recommending required repairs.

· Maintaining clean, sanitary conditions of equipment to support COVID requirements.

· Fueling bus and vehicles as required.

· Picking up lunches and mail on an as needed basis.

· Completing pick-ups and deliveries to Winnipeg and surrounding area.

· Assisting with movement of fleet vehicles to offsite contractor for maintenance.

· Assisting with the loading and unloading of passengers.

· Completing all applicable paperwork as required.

· Driving safely, responsibly and being prepared for all road conditions.

· Working in all weather conditions including extreme outdoor temperatures ranging from +30°C to -40°C.

· Conduct pre-operational checks (visual walk-about) for operational safety of equipment and document in logbook

· Participating in and maintaining up to date all safety and operational training.

· Assuming personal responsibility for maintaining current skills by attending all training required by the site, viewing assigned videos, reading articles and participating in seminars.

· Sharing learned knowledge and skills with peers.

· Collaborating with other departments and contractors.

· Adhering to Workplace safety and health procedures, WHMIS program.

· Identifying and reporting any real or potential safety hazards and informing other employees if they are using unsafe work practices or equipment.

· Wearing all safety equipment related to the position.

· Working overtime as required.

· Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.

· Other duties as assigned by manager.

What we are looking for:

· Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.

· High school graduate or equivalent.

· Manitoba Class 2 Driver’s License with Air Endorsement.

· Clean driving record verified by drivers abstract.

· Must be capable of driving a variety of equipment; coach, school bus, vans, SUV’s, etc.

· Five years’ experience in operation of related equipment.

· First Aid Training is an asset.

· Knowledge of normal operating parameters (engine temperature, fluid levels, etc.) and required mechanical condition (hoses, engine, tires, etc.) of equipment.

· Excellent driving skills and habits.

· Calm, pleasant and have helpful manner.

· Ability to communicate using cell phone, two-way radio, telephone and log sheet.

· Initiative and utilize good judgement to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records.

· Must be punctual, dependable and safety minded.

· Ability to understand detailed information is essential.

· Demonstrates responsibility and is accountable for accurately handling the details associated with one’s work.

· Adaptive to a changing environment and responds with initiative.

· Excellent interpersonal communication skills and proven ability to maintain successful working relations at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.

· Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

· Working in an operational and decommissioning environment with radiological and industrial safety hazards (i.e. laboratories, workshops, and construction and demolition areas).

· Physical agility and mobility necessary to perform all aspects of the work, which involves frequent bending and lifting.

· Ability to wear full PPE & C for work activities in high contamination zones.
