Your Opportunity
BDO Canada requires a Business Analyst to join our team in a hybrid work arrangement from either our Winnipeg or GTA Offices (Toronto, Oakville or Markham). The successful candidate will to support our business process standardization and re-engineering initiatives including the review, analysis, and implementation of recommended changes to optimize and transform the practice and operations. This position is suited to an individual who enjoys working in an environment with complex problems, challenging deadlines, driving opportunities to conclusions, and as the desire to alter traditional approaches. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that process improvements align with the firm’s business objectives and future vision.
Your Opportunity
  • Conduct research to evaluate and define business problems and identify the root cause.
  • Translate business needs into business process solutions.
  • Analyze the impact of proposed solutions across the business.
  • Develop and present process diagrams and other applicable project artifacts to stakeholders.
  • Lead workshops, focus groups, structured walkthroughs, and process reviews in collaboration with stakeholder teams.
  • Participate in all aspects of project delivery activities including, but are not limited to, documentation of project needs, data analysis/research of needs, solution alternative analysis, and contributing to project schedule and effort estimates.
  • Develop and execute test plans for user acceptance testing.
  • Communicate process impacts to stakeholders to ensure they understand process outcomes.
  • Develop post-implementation verification plans and monitor to ensure the change is adopted and the benefits are realized.
  • Provide reporting, analytics, and progress updates on initiatives to Project Managers and Management in a timely manner.
  • Establishes personal engagement agreement with business sponsor(s) and stakeholder(s) to facilitate shared meaning and commitment to goals.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Executive level Stakeholders and managing expectations.
  • Superior communication skills including experience in developing and delivering presentations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that process changes are aligned with business objectives and that stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the change process.
  • Work with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that process changes are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimum disruption to business operations.
  • Facilitate implementation of new processes through training sessions, demos, and the development of appropriate documentation.

Your experience and education
  • You have at least 5+ years of professional experience in a Business Systems Analyst role or similar capacity.
  • You have a University degree in Business Management/related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • Considered an asset if you have obtained or are pursuing your Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) from International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA).
  • You have strong knowledge and working experience on Business Analysis tools, activities, and methodologies.
  • You have strong facilitation, presentation, and training skills with the ability to convey complex ideas verbally and written to both business and technical staff.
  • You have strong analytical, time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments with varying complexity simultaneously within tight deadlines.
  • You have strong knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint).
  • You have working knowledge and experience of MS Project Portfolio Management Tool (Project Online).
  • You bring previous experience in a professional service and/or service delivery environment.
  • You offer proven organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
