What is the opportunity?

Business Analyst needed in Finance IT to support US Regulatory Reporting Finance group for any changes needed for current reporting. This will include but not limited to updates/changes to the incoming financial and reference data, report changes, intake of new data, new requirements or changes to the reporting lines of the regulatory reports filed by Finance. We also support other groups within Finance who uses the data from the regulatory reports for reporting.

This position partners with various finance groups and contributes to accuracy in reporting to the regulators and compliance to internal and external reporting rules.

What will you do?

The business analyst responsibilities will include:

  • analyzing and documenting the requirements gathering and analytical efforts related to Regulatory Reporting and Financial Control initiatives (BRD/FRD)
  • interpret Regulatory Regulations into data sourcing and development requirements/specifications as required for report development
  • perform gap analysis on data, systems, processes and procedures as required for the project
  • assess if results are accurate before proceeding to UAT with the business
  • identify and resolve data issues through comparison and reconciliation
  • communicate to project leadership team on project status throughout the project lifecycle

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 3-5 years’ experience in business analysis/data analysis/project management
  • Experience in US or foreign banking organization (commercial bank or broker dealer), Bank Holding Company regulatory reporting
  • Experience with logical and physical models, proof of concept to implementation
  • Experience in documenting Business Requirements, Functional Requirements and Interface Specifications
  • Highly analytical and willing to lead work through root cause analysis on process, capability, and data issues; and to effectively facilitate collaboration on resolution
  • Experience in documenting Business Requirements, Functional Requirements and Interface Specifications
  • Strong MS Excel, knowledge of MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint and Visio
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication

Nice to have

  • Experience with Axiom preferred
  • Knowledge of Investment banking products
