Job Data Analyst in Toronto
Role impact:
The Financial Systems Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying, selecting, testing, and implementing financial systems, processes, and applications to drive process improvements and solve business issues and providing support to users of these systems at Head Office, International offices, and the Properties. The role will also be responsible for data analytics and governance, extracting useful data from business analytics, performance data modeling and data visualization techniques, transforming data into information that businesses can use to make informed decisions, and acting as a data steward as part of the Data Governance team.
What you will deliver:
- Work in conjunction with the Data & Technology teams in matters of data integration, data platforms, system design and requests.
- Collaborate regularly with other finance teams and various departments.
- Design and maintain financial reports through various reporting systems/tools (Yardi, Concur, Tableau, iValua, Axxon, Snowflake).
- Gather and structure data, create reports, create, and run models, create analytics, and enable client self-service on routine queries.
- Provide support and act as a data steward with regards to the implementation and ongoing support of the Data Governance program.
- Develop queries and reports/analysis for ad hoc queries as well as compile various reports as necessary to support corporate reporting and analysis.
- Analyze data quality, maintain data, and cleanse data.

What you need to succeed:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a data analytics, reporting or accounting role or related areas with progressive responsibility
- Real Estate/Property Management environment a definite asset
- Strong systems skills including good working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Yardi), and advanced Excel, Word
- Accounting and real estate background with comprehension of financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, and operational analyses including leasing activity, occupancy an asset
- Strong proficiency in using business intelligence and analytics tools (Tableau & Power BI)
- Good understanding of data management, analytics, and business intelligence concepts
- Good working knowledge of data manipulation and management tools
- Experience in designing high-quality dashboards and reporting service implementation
