What you’ll do in this role:

• Design and build data models, views, BI semantic layers, and BI assets for governed reporting and self-service data discovery and analytics
• Develop new data Models to incorporate AI,ML and Natural language processing capabilities to existing BI Reports, Queries and dashboards using the latest technology stack Python,Bigquery and other GCP tools.
• Provide BI support to ongoing projects including data management, data migration and building queries etc.
• Automate, maintain and troubleshoot existing reports that are owned by strategic BI teams.
• Engage in workshops with various business stakeholders to understand business requirements for new reporting and analytics use cases, and develop dashboards and reports that fully meet their needs
• Collaborate with stakeholders across a variety of business units
• Take reporting ownership of a reliability metric that plays an important role in multiple scorecards
• Play an important role in integrating new ideas, concepts, and best practices with the BI team

Qualifications

What you bring to the role:

• Deep understanding of business intelligence and analytics, including data engineering and managing data pipelines
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills; able to work with structured and unstructured raw data to design and develop innovative predictive models using Machine Learning algorithms and Natural Language Processing, metrics, and dashboards to uncover actionable insights
• Strong presentation skills, avid storyteller, communicator and collaborator; able to build relationships with audiences at all levels including senior leadership
• Strong PL/SQL skills, Python, Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, Spark, Tableau, ETL Tools etc.
• An eagerness to learn, grow, and adapt to new software tools and business needs on an ongoing basis
• Known for producing efficient, clean and accurate content
• Experience working with urgent and highly visible content
• Comfort working with all levels of the organization – from managers to senior executives
• Ongoing desire to be part of a high paced, collaborative and exciting team focused on long term planning and business governance
• A natural ability to form strong working relationships and transform the complicated into the simple

Great to haves

• Knowledge of TELUS networks and systems
• GCP certification
• University degree and/or 2-3 years of equivalent combination of experience and education
• Fundamental understanding of Data Science techniques and its strategic impact to business
