We are currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join our IT team. The successful candidate can be based out of any of the Firm's six offices in NS, NB, NL or PEI.

The Opportunity:

The Data Governance Analyst will have extensive technical experience in data governance, data security, data privacy, and industry compliance programs such as PIPEDA and GDPR. In this role, the Data Governance Analyst will lead the establishment, management, and maintenance of a data governance framework that leverages best practices and tools in governing data ownership, management, classification, sharing, privacy, and security.

Along with developing data-related policies and procedures, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and providing recommendations towards mitigating data-related risks. The Data Governance Analyst will maintain a comprehensive inventory of all on-premise and cloud data repositories as well as helping to advance the Firm's data classification policy and procedures.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Security, the Data Governance Analyst will have experience collaborating with other departments and stakeholders as well as participating in cross functional projects to ensure data security standards are met. The successful candidate will have experience educating and garnering the support to promote data governance awareness and compliance.

If you have experience in data governance, a strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations such as PIPEDA and GDPR, along with proven technical abilities including tools for data classification, data retention, DLP and policy management within Microsoft365, we want to hear from you! A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, would be considered an asset.
