JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties:

The position reports to the Team Lead for Asset and Reliability Analytics within Energy Planning &
Analytics and will be responsible for maintaining the Asset Health system and related data
processes and scripts.

You are naturally curious and have a passion for data analytics and data integration. You can
synthesize and draw relationships and correlations between data sets. You have experience
processing large volumes of data, analyzing and visualizing the data using BI tools. You can
identify and interpret data trends/issues and make recommendations for improvement to business,
operations and system processes. You understand how to achieve success as a key contributor to
a larger team.



  • Develops technical solutions for asset health and reliability applications. Establishes plans for
the implementation of integration tools and technologies.

  • Plans and conducts data analysis using multiple database platforms and reporting tools. Applies
business insight in responding to complex and sensitive data queries related to asset health.

  • Imports, cleans, transforms, validates and models data to improve data quality and ensure data
is accurate and relevant and fosters understanding of operational, business and system issues/
trends.

  • Presents data in dashboards by building, designing, and maintaining online applications to
capture and present meaningful information/data for reporting, analysis and presentation purposes
for use by internal business units and management in identifying and implementing process
improvements.

  • Document requirements, design specs and code for new or existing applications/reports.



  • Supports IT sustainment and Infrastructure operations in the implementation of required system
upgrades and cybersecurity updates relating to asset health or reliability analytics’ systems.

Qualifications:

  • University degree (Bachelor’s) in engineering or a related discipline - Electrical Engineering
preferred.

  • Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, as a Professional Engineer with the Engineers
and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC).

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience

  • Experience writing complex queries in Oracle SQL. Intermediate skills in database maintenance
preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel including experience with scripting VBA to automate reports.

  • Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, SAS.

  • Knowledge of the transmission and distribution asset and work management systems.

  • Familiarity with transmission and distribution reliability and associated metrics is an asset.

  • Ability to read and understand one-line diagrams is an asset.

  • Excellent writing and people skills to work with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Ability to multi-task and simultaneously manage multiple tasks with deadlines and deliverables

Flexible work model role definitions
===========================
Our four role types identify the degree of flexibility an employee could have to work from home
based on the type of work they do. The flexibility for an individual job is up to the manager for
each position and the operational requirements. Employees also have the right to work full-time
from the office if they prefer. All of our roles require at least some in-person time.

IBEW/Field – No option to work from home
Resident – Works primarily (4+ days per week) in the office.
Hybrid – May be able to work from home up to 3 days per week.
Remote – Works from home 4+ days per week
