Job Data Specialist in Calgary
Foremost has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Data Specialist, located at our facility in Calgary, AB. This role will be Responsible for meeting the Bill of Material, Work Order, Document Control and shop floor needs in order to support engineering, production, part sales and technical service for Calgary North. Activities related to the entire flow of work from receiving drawings from engineering, to making and adjusting bill of materials, to generating, scheduling and releasing work orders to the shop floor as well as closing work orders after completion.
Responsibilities:
- Action the Material Resource Planning report for all production, and stock requirements.
- Release work orders to the shop floor after the release of each capital job
- Troubleshoot work orders in the system
- Track, find, create and cancel work orders as required
- Open rework, work orders for the quality department
- Print engineering drawings for the shop floor
- Assist shop personnel with production bill of materials; replacement & rush parts
- Coordinate with Production & Purchasing for shortages of rush parts
- Create electronic files of drawings for purchasing
- Assist in scanning and compiling part certification documents.
- Maintain material certification and other records in the system and filing documents
- Documenting hose lists
- Updating parts in Visibility and reporting
- Read drawings, enter and revise engineering Bill of Materials in Visibility
- Update production Bill of Materials on work orders, inventory and issued parts
- Liaise between Engineering, estimating, material management. Quality, Production, Part Sales and Finance
- Co-ordinate the Engineering Change Notification activities
- Update parts in Visibility as per Engineering and/or Purchasing or Production
- Support other team members
- Assist shop personnel and part sales with their requests
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with sufficient experience working in a heavy duty manufacturing environment.
- 2-3 years of experience in a Bill of Materials, document control and materials management
- Good oral and written communication skills and a strong team player that is highly customer service oriented
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to multi task is a must
- Be able to work with tight deadlines and work under pressure
- Knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Word and Excel
