Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Planning & Analysis, the Director Pricing and Revenue Optimization will be responsible for executing on strategies to optimize overall profitability and value for the organization through revenue performance. As such, the Director will be responsible for managing all processes related to pricing including the annual budgeting process and intra-year adjustments. They will be tasked with optimizing these processes and partnering with key stakeholders including operations, sales, finance, marketing and real estate, to assess, develop and implement pricing strategies for our retirement communities.

In addition, the Director Pricing and Revenue Optimization will support the department in all aspects of financial planning and analysis, on-going and tactical analysis and reporting related to supporting our business partners in revenue management objectives.


Key Activities

Key activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing and optimizing pricing related processes
  • Key member of any pricing strategy projects and the development and execution of revenue strategies for all retirement communities;
  • Maximize revenue through strategic oversight of residence revenue budgets, forecasting, pricing, demand analysis, yield management, market segmentation and business mix optimization;
  • Promote revenue management innovation and support revenue management accountability across all retirement residences;
  • Work collaboratively with the Operations team to develop, manage and maximize suite rates and rate strategies to achieve consistent, overall occupancy goals and address site specific occupancy targets;
  • Work closely with the billing department to capture efficiencies and also to optimize resident experience;
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support corporate marketing strategies that affect revenue;
  • Collaborate with the decision support team and the real estate group to assess and determine revenue targets and pricing strategies for all new or repositioned properties;
  • Collaborate with SP&A team to develop revenue forecasting and budgeting;
  • Support decision making with concise and meaningful summaries of analysis findings;
  • Assist in developing, maintaining and communicating revenue specific KPI’s;
  • Optimize revenue generation opportunities through competitor analysis, environmental scanning, market modeling, business mix yield management, pricing concepts and through third party market data
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and assignments as assigned by the Vice President, Strategic Planning & Analysis

Qualifications

  • Experience in revenue management concepts, processes and systems;
  • Expert level MS Excel skills including Power Query
  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in a large, matrix organization, preferably within the seniors housing or hospitality sector or a service based industry;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Statistics or Finance;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in revenue management systems, property management systems and business intelligence tools;
  • Proficiency with interpreting data to identify past and future trends to communicate business needs;
  • Ability to operate effectively across various departments and management levels to resolve issues and achieve targets;
  • Ability to form persuasive fact-based cases to support views and recommendations;
  • Strong written and verbal communication;
  • A passion for seniors, and Making People’s Lives Better;
  • A positive attitude and sense of personal accountability;
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
