Job Summary

Make a difference in this rewarding career opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will coordinate and lead the Sport Sector’s strategic data and economic impact analysis. The position will have an emphasis on developing and implementing comprehensive data analysis and economic impact evaluation to advance Ministry and sport sector goals, particularly as they relate to the hosting of major marquee sport events and Pathways to Sport – a Strategic Framework for Sport in British Columbia 2020-2025, government’s strategic framework for the sport sector.

Job Requirements:

  • A Degree in Economics or closely related field such as statistics, commerce, or mathematics, or equivalent.
  • One (1) year experience in the design and implementation of statistical analysis and economic modelling projects.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Two (2) years experience in the design and implementation of statistical analysis and economic modelling projects.
  • One (1) year experience assessing the economic benefits of events.
  • One (1) year experience in the development and administration of grants programs.
  • Experience in preparing Treasury Board and Cabinet submissions, Minister’s correspondence, briefing notes, and position papers.
