Job Education Manager in Mississauga

triOS College Business Technology Healthcare Inc. & Eastern College Inc. is actively seeking a Remote Student Education Manager to join our team.

Primary Purpose:

Ensure the effective educational delivery for all students enrolled in remote/hybrid programs. Manage remote/hybrid faculty and scheduling to ensure that students’ enrolled achieve the education outcomes as outlined in the College Program Submission, specified by New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario regulators. To proactively maintain high morale of faculty and student body through an overall friendly and remotely engaged culture focused on student success.

The Remote Student Education Manager will support the vision, mission, and values of triOS & Eastern College while contributing to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of respect, integrity, dedication and readiness; embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire and train direct reports.
  • Ensure that direct reports are adequately skilled and equipped to perform their duties.
  • Review policies and procedures with new direct reports.
  • Manage and orchestrate the work of direct reports.
  • Ensure that staff maintain professional appearance and conduct.
  • Hold meetings with direct reports, as required, to promote internal communication, awareness, and efficiency.
  • Foster faculty professional development in the interest of personal and company growth.
  • Performance evaluation of direct reports.
  • Manage vacations and seek to minimize absenteeism of direct reports.
  • Provide input and assistance to the college leadership team and other staff (non-direct reports), in the interest of overall corporate growth and efficiency.
  • Qualify, recruit, hire and manage remote/hybrid instructional staff.
  • Ensure that remote/hybrid programs are following the established sequence of courses and exam timetables and that remote/hybrid students graduate and complete diploma requirements and certification exams to meet graduate and placement standards.
  • Ensure that remote/hybrid instructors follow guidelines for instructional delivery of curriculum according to corporate standards.
  • Assist with managing remote/hybrid and classroom scheduling according to corporate guidelines.
  • Manage remote/hybrid instructor professional development according to corporate guidelines.
  • Audit the quality of remote/hybrid classroom instruction.
  • Review remote/hybrid Instructor and Course Level Survey results with faculty and initiate corrected or improvement actions.
  • Complete probationary and annual remote/hybrid instructor performance reviews.
  • Find replacements for instructors who are ill or have emergencies.
  • Ensure remote/hybrid classroom environments are equipped to deliver course offerings.
  • Provide orientation to remote/hybrid instructors.
  • Approve hours for remote/hybrid instructors.
  • Ensure that the educational, physical, social, and special needs of students are being met, wherever possible, with guidance from the students’ Campus Director.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for students attending remote classes, with guidance from the Campus Director for each Campus.
  • Conduct Instructor Surveys and spot check remote/hybrid program satisfaction.
  • Ensure human rights of both staff and students are respected and not violated.
  • Work with the students’ Campus Director to resolve student escalations involving instructors.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver annual calendar of remote student events and lunch and learns.

Qualifications:

  • Some post-secondary education, college diploma in business or technology, university degree preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years combined management and administrative experience in a comparable educational environment.
  • Understanding of current remote/hybrid business and management practice
  • Knowledge of sales and customer service issues.
  • Experience working with accounting, budgeting and financial statements.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the private career college industry, including training vocations and programs.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of government regulatory climate of education in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario.
  • Knowledge of computer training and technical private career college industry.
  • Knowledge of information technology, specifically networking, office applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of remote/hybrid instructional techniques (teaching experience an asset).

Hours of work:

This full-time permanent position will work Monday to Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
