We’re hiring a Manager for our EH&S team at Baseplant! We are looking for an experienced professional to lead the our EH&S team as well as we provide support and guidance to the business units.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 10 years experience within Maintenance, Operations, EH&S or Technical.
  • Preference will be a candidate with extensive knowledge in Mining and Tailings within Oilsands.
  • Occupational Safety Certificate/Diploma or Degree, or internal candidate with proven EH&S competency and supporting experiences.
  • Safety Professional Designation is preferred (CRSP or equivalent).
  • Strong technical background with the ability to develop technical talent for the corporation
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop staff and lead teams to produce desired outcomes
  • Breadth of organizational experience or knowledge; working with multiple areas or on cross-functional projects
  • Prior experience leading an organization through change
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the EH&S team and provide strong collaboration to our Baseplant business units to deliver results.
  • Work with business units to set EH&S priorities and deliver on targets.
  • Bring clarity and focus by translating and delivering on strategy of the business units.
  • Decision-making with a safety, people focused, and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Using data to provide input to planning for the business units.
  • Provide support across all business units to drive operational excellence.
  • Managing complex projects in a fast pace environment.
  • Support for implementing Human and Organizational Performance (HOP)
  • Build and support an engaged team, with a focus on developing our talent within EH&S.
  • Provide timely EHS Stewardship to facilitate meaningful conversations to enable data driven decisions and effective change management
Location and other Key Details:
  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
  • Some occasional travel from Fort McMurray to Calgary may be required.
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
  • Depending on the nature of the role, we have implemented a Hybrid Work Model to provide our employees with flexibility.
