We currently seek highly motivated full-time and part-time Event Set-Up staff to join our dynamic team.

As Event Set-Up you will be responsible for the set up and servicing of our event rooms. You will ensure that food and beverage breaks are delivered in a timely fashion and that all meetings run smoothly, with any last minute changes handled seamlessly. You will need to have superb standards of guest care, be smart, polite, well-spoken and friendly. You will work closely with our Front of House teams conducting room service duties and assisting with functions, including some waiting duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide a consistently exceptional experience for all guests
Offer guests knowledgeable, personalized service
Ensure excellence in guest satisfaction by maintaining a positive and committed “Do Whatever It Takes” attitude
Participate in staff education plans, including on‑the‑job training
Maintain acceptable attendance record
Meet Health & Safety requirements.
Be a personal representation of the service and overall hospitality of the staff of the property
Exceed the expectations of internal and external customers
Set up and tear down a wide variety of events such as company holiday functions, large and small corporate events, weddings, trade shows, dinners, lunches, meetings and conferences
Execute the Banquet Event Order (BEO) according to the specifications for the event. At times you will move, unstack and set up chairs and tables, place covers on chairs or move and lift equipment such as a rack of dishes, chaffing dishes, stage pieces, risers and table carts
Set up meeting rooms, replenish refreshments, remove food and re-stock inventory as required
Circulate pre-select menus, and serve meals as required
Provide support to group contact for AV requirements, and facilitate last minute changes
Perform other duties as required

Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required

Minimum 1 year in hospitality, preferably with experience in a similar role
Smart Serve certified, required
Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of guests, peers, supervisors, and other outside contacts
Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English
Ability to be accurate, concise, detail oriented and make independent decisions
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Effective time management skills to organize and prioritize workload

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Able to lift 50+ lbs as required.
Able to stand, walk, carry, reach and lift for extended periods.
Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must have own transportation and be eligible to legally work in Canada.
