Job Financial Analyst in Vancouver

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to assist with a broad range of financial analysis work across our vertical and land development projects, house building projects, income property portfolio and investment and development acquisitions. You have an innate ability to put together great presentations that can explain your message with clarity and conviction. While working on financial analyses, you critically review the data and inputs to ensure the assumptions make sense, and you have the courage to challenge the inputs. You thrive in fast paced environments where tight deadlines bring out your best work.


You

  • Have Excel skills many are envious of and you have used them extensively to analyze cash flows and create and manage financial models that are rock solid.
  • Know how to write.
  • Have a passion for Real Estate and you are up to speed with what’s going on in the market so you can challenge assumptions and generally add value to project related conversations.
  • Are known for your attention to detail, resourcefulness, and strong communication skills.
  • Are highly motivated and work well in collaborative team environments.

You will

  • Assist with the creation and ongoing management of proformas/financial models for a wide range of development projects and income producing assets. The financial modelling and proforma work involves collating, inputting and analyzing data from across the company, working closely with the development, sales and marketing, construction, accounting, asset management and leasing teams as appropriate.
  • Strong understanding of DCF and free cash approach to valuation.
  • Support the Real Estate finance team by taking on responsibility for data and financial analysis – e.g. cash flow and scenario analysis, ad hoc financial and capital structure analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of external presentation materials for equity and debt financing.
  • Be a key contributor in the preparation of material related to quarterly corporate reporting, fair market value reports and other ongoing reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare economic summaries for Anthem’s income producing assets, which includes updating rent rolls and operating cost/recoveries analysis.

You have

  • A Business, Finance or Real Estate degree
  • A CPA, CA or CFA designation (an asset)
  • A minimum three years’ industry experience in a related role.
  • Real Estate experience (an asset)
  • Advanced Excel skills; the ability to build complex cash flow models and manipulate data with an understanding of investment return metrics
  • Strong abilities with written English
  • Exceptional organizational skills; able to multitask
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • At ease in candid discussions with senior leaders; able to present and defend your individual point of view
