FedEx Express Canada is seeking a Full-Time Financial Analyst located in Mississauga, Ontario.

FINANCIAL ANALYST POSITION
Job Summary: To provide financial expertise to management in the analysis of Major Canadian Region Projects and Proposals, including Revenues and/or Strategic Capital and Operating Expenditures utilizing modeling techniques.

Responsibilities:


  • Researches and develops accurate interim forecasts and systems which integrate expense, capital and revenue and minimize management efforts to develop resource plans
  • Analyzes and evaluates data for regional projects utilizing statistical modeling techniques
  • Identifies and defines basic problems and alternatives including a review of risks and benefits
  • Develops models for analyzing proposals; develops conceptual models and validates key parameters
  • Reviews business plans for completeness and consistency with established objectives and priorities; monitors accomplishments of plans; reviews/evaluates departmental goals for consistency with regional goals
  • Educates management in the use of economic/financial tools to aid management in the performance of their primary functions
  • Identifies trends and patterns in routine and special management projects/reports regarding regional performance and makes recommendations for improvement
  • May track monthly capital expenditures providing appropriate explanations of variances and perform analyses of capital additions
  • May performs periodic updates to regional business plans to reflect operating environment and managerial charges
  • Develops new decision analysis models and monitors those currently in use utilizing financial modeling techniques

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Majoring in Business or Finance)
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum TWO (2) years of experience in Finance
    • Including financial modeling
    • Professional experience in financial analysis/planning functions or activities
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Programming, SQL skills preferred but not mandatory
  • Analytical skills
  • Good human relations skills
