The Inventory Analyst will have our Kitchener, ON wire cut cookie plant that produces 17 million cookies per week, as their home location. This state of the art facility operates with 4 highly automated production lines and possess a strong team oriented culture. This is a full-time hybrid role, with the Kitchener plant as a “home” location.

Summary:
The Inventory Analyst will support the supply chain team by focusing on critical tasks related to distribution and warehousing. They will need to work with 3rd party partners to ensure that transactions completed at the 3PL are accurately recorded in the ERP system. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the ERP system is kept up to date to allow other work streams to make appropriate decisions regarding production, and inventory deployment. Managing the indirect purchase process for warehousing costs, completing inventory and cost analysis, and working on longer term projects will add value to the organization. The successful completion of these tasks will ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of goods throughout our supply chain. SAP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Record inventory transactions in the ERP system for non-EDI warehouses
  • Monitor EDI transactions, address IDoc errors and preform root cause investigations on any variances
  • Reconcile inventory (frequency and level of detail as determined by a team leader) and complete reconciliation reports with backup as needed
  • Build and maintain Inventory Aging, hold and other reports as required
  • Manage indirect purchasing for warehouse costs
  • Develop, prepare various daily and weekly reports as needed
  • Work collaboratively with 3PL partners and internal partnerships to ensure successful inventory transfers
  • Complete root-cause analysis and drive changes to reduce system and business process errors related to inventory control
  • Lead any product recall related activities at a 3PL level
  • Warehouse metrics & KPI processing
  • Maintain accuracy of all holds and damage and coordinate any destruction as needed
  • Provide support to, and train other team members as they develop skills in inventory management and SAP.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4-year degree) in Supply Chain, Business or related field
Four (4) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, and/or distribution, with 1 year or more of inventory management
Proficient in Microsoft Office – strong Excel skills
Previous experience with SAP or other ERP systems

  • Understanding of EDI processes and documents is a plus, but not required
  • Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills – can review a large data set, identify the key points, and summarize it
  • Self-motivated person. Able to set your own priorities and work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in an environment that values cross-functional cooperation and teamwork
  • This position may require occasional overtime work (nights/weekends) as requested
