Your Opportunity
Under the general supervision of the Manager, Property and Custodial Services, provides routine cleaning and maintenance service and performs other related duties as required.
Functions and Duties
1. Cleans classrooms, offices, washrooms, hallways, and other surfaces by:
2. Maintains furniture and equipment in an orderly, clean and safe manner.
3. Maintains building security.
4. Maintains a stock of janitorial supplies for assigned area.
5. Removes snow from steps and walkways.
6. Maintains current skillset by attending instructional courses provided by the College.
7. Performs other duties related as required.
- wet mopping;
- washing, scrubbing;
- stripping, seal waxing and polishing floors;
- removing stains on carpeting and performing shampoo procedures when required;
- vacuuming, dusting.

Education and Experience
Completion Secondary School (Grade 10), and a Custodial Worker certificate.
Over 6 months and up to and including 1 year related experience.

Skills and Abilities
- Skilled in the safe use of related equipment and cleaning materials
- Must maintain furniture and equipment in an orderly and clean manner
- Able to perform work of a routine nature with minimal or no direct supervision
- May be required to handle hazardous materials from time to time (the College will provide training)
- Must have ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships and exercise courtesy
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties
