Job Junior Financial Analyst in Vancouver

Reporting to the Senior Analyst, the Junior Financial Analyst, Investment Properties will support clients including developers, Rental clients, and Strata Corporations in budgeting and cost sharing. The Analyst will be involved in preparing future operating budgets for a wide variety housing and commercial properties. They will assist clients in budget analysis and look for budget optimization opportunities.

The Analyst role would be ideal for a candidate that is detail and results oriented, along with having excellent time management and organizational skills, and possess a solid understanding of the real estate, construction, or development industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Review development plans and information to create accurate future operating budgets.
  • Review clients’ budgets in order to provide recommendations including cost efficiencies.
  • Create cost sharing documents for mixed use projects with a specific focus on Airspace Parcels and Remainders.
  • Review Agreements and Statements (including Disclosure Statements) in order to provide analysis on financial cost efficiencies. Prepare summary reports for clients on recommendations, including presenting directly to the client.
  • Create and manage pricing models for services, while ensuring that budgeted profitability is met
  • Maintain various databases of vital client and company operational information
  • Assist in timely and effective delivery of improvement initiatives and projects through data discovery, data entry, analysis and reporting, using tools such as Power BI
  • Enter information into a CRM software system when contracts are won.

Vendor Management

  • Support the lead in vendor management system implementation

Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess an associate or bachelor’s degree with related work/co-op/internship experience. The ideal candidate will have exceptional grasp of financial budgets with advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and programs. They will be notably skilled in excel for data modelling, analysis and reporting and have advanced knowledge and experience with other internet applications, web browsers and software, including mobile devices and apps.

The ideal candidate will be able to work both independently as a self-starter or in a team setting and possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills. They will also demonstrate a combination of excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and efficiency in completing time-sensitive tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Power BI or other visualization applications required.
