Position: Junior Key Account Manager

Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Language Requirements: English

Location: Vancouver, B.C. (Incumbent is based out of our Richmond, BC office)

Purpose:

Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing sales and marketing activities to increase market share. Directs strategic planning, communicates goals and objectives to company personnel, and ensures that customer plans are effectively implemented.

Covers designated territory developing potential customers and maintaining existing customers at projected sales levels. Tracks revenue goals and contribution margin, oversees budget, and completes reporting requirements as scheduled. Meets or exceeds goal expectations and ensures that professional relations exist with customer, brokers and vendors. Keeps Senior Management well informed of area operations.

Job Responsibilities:

Account Management

  • Focuses on all category management and responds in a timely manner to all opportunities to present new and existing product lines to customers.
  • Prepares and executes business reviews for key accounts that includes short-, mid-, and long-term goals for brand building including presentation of key account business reviews.
  • Manages Approved Product List, including additions/deletions, promotions, and EDI price file maintenance.
  • Effectively forecasts customers period sales and outlines key drivers/opportunities for profit or topline losses. Oversees budget analyses and reporting, measures progress toward established goals and communicates results to appropriate personnel.
  • Drafts, executes, and tracks customer business plans. Follows through on key account plans and objectives with reaching budgeted net sales and margin objectives.
  • Effectively communicates on all programs, business needs, and opportunities to sales management. Works closely with marketing, field sales, finance, and internal customers to drive key sales.
  • Provides industry, economic, and competitive information to assist in developing sales and marketing programs, merchandising decisions, distribution strategies, and training processes. Prospect for new business opportunities to expand market share.
  • Ensures that sales and marketing plans, goals, and policies are consistent with established Company-wide goals.
  • Submits accurate, timely, and complete reports to management as scheduled. Ensures that reports and records are accessible and meaningful for decision making processes.
  • Maintains excellent customer relations. Meets or exceeds client expectations and established deadlines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business, Management, Marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience managing conventional key accounts and related processes.
  • Previous Field Sales experience in a B2B environment preferred.
  • Previous experience managing categories, a trade spend budget, promotional calendar, and planogram resets.
  • Previous experience managing key accounts within the organic/natural consumer-packaged goods industry considered an asset.

Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
