Overview:

To provide support and help align maintenance priorities to 7 Operations Managers (not direct reports) covering 75 ReadyMix plants in Ontario and Quebec. To prepare plans, project budgets, CAD drawings for major plant improvements, portable plant layouts and capital expenditure projects. To provide project management skills to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and on budget. To provide timely expert mechanical/maintenance support to all ReadyMix plants and associated equipment.
Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all site maintenance work is performed by adequately trained workers under the direct supervision of competent leadership
  • Ensure most effective preventative maintenance program actively used and designed to increase longevity of our plants and equipment, and in turn reducing costs
  • Rollout effective and sustainable 5 year maintenance plan
  • Identify and evaluate capex improvement projects and prioritize ROI
  • Develop a long term Plant Replacement Plan
  • Develop a long term Loader Replacement Plan
  • Reducing Energy costs at plants
  • Optimize equipment, layout and costs to set up/dismantle portable plants
  • Overhaul portable plants
  • Maximize uptime of plants and equipment
  • Travel within field across Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic provinces
  • To provide timely expert mechanical/maintenance support to all ReadyMix plants and associated equipment including boilers, chillers, conveyors etc.
Relationship with Others
  • No direct reports, works very closely with Operations Managers and their Millwrights

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial setting
  • CET, P. Eng. or Millwright
  • Qualified in CAD design is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications on a PC
