Job Office Manager in Kelowna

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Resort General Manager, the Front Office Manager will be responsible for overseeing all Front Guest Facing operations within rooms division including, including Front Desk, Night Audit, Bell/Parking Attendants. Will provide training and development of all front office team members, implement Standard Operational Procedures to ensure all roles adhere to operational standards. Participate in leadership in leadership meetings/ discussions throughout the resort.


Responsibilities and Accountability:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the junior leaders in the department
  • Encourages and builds trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Supervises and manage day to day operations within the Front office operations
  • The ability to ensure the qualified personnel are selected, hired, and trained in all areas of responsibility
  • Oversee all scheduled and forecasting of hours and expenses within the Front Office operations
  • Primary person responsible for several on property systems including KIPSU, TrustYou (voice of the Guest) and Opera cloud PMS at the resort
  • Primary point of contact for guest escalated situations at the resort
  • Ensures all standards are maintained for on boarding of all new front office staff
  • Providing feedback and reviews for all Supervisors and colleagues within the department
  • Has an up-to-date and on-going training program in place for all front desk staff
  • Ensure that all policies, procedures, federal, provincial, and local laws are complied with regard to personnel, security, cash handling, guest relations, safety, etc.
  • Maintain good strong communication and relationship within different departments at the resort and within Argus as a whole


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity at a resort hotel, preference will be given to applicants with prior Front Office Experience
  • Preference will be given for applicants with prior experience with Opera PM, KIPSU and TrustYou
  • Ability to develop and motivate staff to achieve goals
  • Ability to work with all employees to promote teamwork and co-operative relationships across departments
  • Ability to provide ongoing coaching to staff to enhance performance
  • Class 5 driver’s license required
  • Experience with Opera would be considered a strong asset
  • Flexible with regards to working schedule
