Job Operations Administrator in Fort Saskatchewan

Hydro Scotford, located just outside of Fort Saskatchewan, has an opportunity for a Production Administrator to join our team.

Although not required, the ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a machine shop environment, and must be comfortable working with management, sales, and customers and trades personnel.

Keen attention to detail is required in this role for the production of Quality documents, invoicing, database maintenance and providing status updates during management meetings.

Working in a team environment to support the business operations with Pump shop, Machine shop, and the Welding/Fabrication shop jobs, this position has the following key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all job quotes are prepared, entered and tracked
  • Ensure the accurate creation of Shop Traveller (work orders) for each job, tracking hours, material, scope changes and closeout
  • Ensure all jobs are entered and maintained in the database, EPICOR related experience an asset
  • Interface with customers and account managers for new jobs, pricing, purchase orders, and final documentation reports
  • Prepare price and ensure all information is accurate for each job before sending for invoicing
  • In cooperation with managers, ensure that all company and industry related procedures and practices, as well as safety requirements, are followed relating to ABSA and welding certification
  • Provide additional administrative support as required.

The qualifications we seek include:

  • Completion of High School, with additional training in business administration
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel
  • Data entry experience and demonstrated ability to plan and organize own work
  • Ability to function comfortably in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines, where priorities can change on a daily basis
  • Related work experience in an office environment,
  • Mechanical aptitude, or experience in an industrial environment considered, but not required
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, combined with problem solving abilities.
