Job Operations Manager in Toronto
The key responsibilitiesfor this position are:
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of Drivers/Sorters
- Monitor daily attendance reporting; investigate and resolve any discrepancies regarding employee paycheques and other issues
- Conduct departmental focus meetings to review daily targets, as well as the previous day’s record of performance including production figures and error rates
- Monitor the timely departure of all delivery trucks and line hauls
- Provide leadership, recruitment, training, coaching and development of unionized employees
- Scheduling of employees as applicable in the event of absence, vacation, training, etc.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with customer service, sales, IT, and HR/Payroll
- Demonstrated leadership, motivational and team building abilities
- Strong organizational, time management and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
- Ability to work independently on various shifts if required
We are looking for individuals who closely meet the following qualifications:
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably in the transportation or related industry
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment
- Relevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience
