Job Plant Manager in Belle Plaine

The Plant Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the overall operations of the manufacturing site. The Site Manager manages and oversees production, quality assurance, materials planning/scheduling, shipping/receiving, security, and maintenance.

Skills and Abilities Include:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in, chemical production is required. Detailed knowledge of chemical unit operations and project engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency with computers utilizing Microsoft Windows, Windows applications, and ERP order entry systems
  • Experience in plant project and process engineering. 2-5 years preferred.
  • HAZOP / PHA experience required
  • PSM experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (nice to have but not required)

  • Anticipate problems and appropriate solutions. Able to quickly and creatively troubleshoot and problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize work to meet concurrent deadlines. Work effectively under pressure to produce accurate results.
  • Must be a team participant. Effective interaction with Engineering, EH&S, Customer Service, and Sales is a requirement.

Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe and responsible manner. Must insure all internal and regulatory safety requirements are met. Ensure GPS program objectives are achieved.
  • Management of manufacturing site employees including Plant Manager, Laboratory staff, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, site Customer Service, and Office personnel. Provides site leadership to execute plant operations in a safe and efficient manner, meeting site commercial objectives.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the maintenance of equipment and plant facility
  • Participate in the development of capital budgets for the site. Works closely with Operations Management and Engineering to develop and execute CAPEX Projects.
  • Participates in the development of strategic and operational objectives with the VP of Operations, Director of Plant Operations, and Director of Engineering.
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining a safe, productive working environment through the enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for effective interfacing with applicable civic and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage site budgets
  • Plan inventory and oversee warehouse efficiency
  • Any other business activities as required.

Compensation:

  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $113,600 - $159,000 CAD. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
