Job Product Manager in Remote

Job Overview


We're looking for a Product Manager residing in Western Canada (AB or BC) to join our team.


The Product Manager is responsible for understanding, documenting, planning, and jointly executing on how we deliver alerts, services and intelligence products that help our users plan, respond and recover from risks and disruptions.


The ideal candidate will have project and/or product management skills. They know how to document user requirements, business requirements, run a Gantt chart and act as a bridge between users, engineering, designers, data partners, leadership and other stakeholders involved in delivering a functional product.


Overall the Product Manager will work closely with the larger product and alerts teams to gain a deeper understanding of our users and how they can best use samdesk to better respond to emerging threats - while helping us chart a course to deliver meaningful products.


What your day could look like as a Product Manager?


  • Join sales or customer success on calls to understand use cases and gain insights
  • Secondary research on the impact events make on different client segments
  • Sit down for a hour or two to develop and maintain a well organized Gantt chart
  • Plan out what the next month, quarter and year looks like for samdesk’s product
  • Join Product Lead and Product Owners on a weekly strategy meeting
  • Communicate with engineers and other teams on deliverables based on your product plan
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure successful execution of product development plans.
  • Analyze Mixpanel and other product metrics tools to deeply understand how users are engaging with our alerts

Responsibilities & Duties


  • Define and own, in collaboration with product leadership, the product roadmap
  • Coordinate product launches, including documentation, training, and marketing collateral
  • Monitor product adoption, user engagement, and feedback to drive iterative improvements
  • Lead sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and iterative development
  • Measure the success of our products
  • Measure the success of product engagement; customer satisfaction

Competencies & Likely Background Experience


  • Product Manager
  • You’ve done similar things as described in the job description above
  • You’re used to working with cross functional teams, and have great communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Familiarity with Agile project management tools (e.g. Jira and Trello) and product management tools
