About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Reporting & Analytics, this role will be responsible for driving reporting process changes towards enhanced analytics, automation, and data visualization. This role will encourage and foster collaboration across Downstream reporting stakeholders. This role will create and deliver monthly/weekly reporting requirements to all levels of the organization, to support decision making, enhance information sharing and drive value for Downstream
This position is located in Calgary, AB.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate Value Chain plan details into weekly/monthly reporting requirements, including short term optimization, lookback and performance management reporting
  • Identify and implement areas of potential value and process improvement
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to translate plan outcomes and results into financial requirements
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support development of automated visual and analytics tools for monitoring and reporting
  • Evaluate and present results to stakeholders, explain complex concepts and findings simply and concisely
  • Facilitate ideation meetings, provide support in uncovering gaps through leveraging internal analytics
  • Leverage corporate tools and capabilities to upskill Downstream internal analytics

Qualifications:
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance, reporting, analytics, or equivalent role
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in solution design thinking
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task in a changing environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong oral and written communication; ability to interpret and communicate financial information with clarity
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and team skills with ability to interact with all disciplines
  • Ability to educate and coach a broad and diverse audience on data analysis topics and new ways of working
  • Experience in modelling, data mining techniques, data warehousing and metadata management considered an asset
  • Broad knowledge of data management technologies with commitment to continuous learning to keep pace with emerging trends
  • Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in Accounting/Finance
  • Possession of or advancement towards a Certified Professional Accounting, CFA, MBA or other relevant designation is preferred
