You will be working with some of North America's leading life science organizations – adding to our impressive lineup of start-ups including BlueRock Therapeutics, Trillium Therapeutics, Adela Bio Inc., Treadwell Therapeutics, AvroBio, and more. These companies, first incubated within UHN, are among many others that have collectively injected more than $5 billion into the economy.

UHN is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Research Analyst I and strengthen our internal operations and customer service in the areas of agreement processing and finance within the Commercialization at UHN team.

Duties

As a Research Analyst I - Commercialization, you will have a significant role in Commercialization at UHN operations. Your responsibilities will include a variety of financial and agreement-related data entry and analysis of projects relating to various contracts, agreements, and financial data including tracking and processing agreement and patent-related payments, along with other duties consistent with the job classification.


Additional responsibilities may include researching personnel and institutions or companies new to the office; tracking the progress of invoices and payments to ensure accurate quality standards are met; communicating with internal and external stakeholders to obtain information; uploading files into the database; obtaining required UHN or external signatures; and scheduling meetings required with internal and external parties.


You will have the opportunity to work with other UHN departments (such as Research Finance, Grants & Contracts, Research Facilities, REB) and external clients (various companies, hospitals, universities, etc.) to complete projects, including agreement storage management, retroactive data entry, and various audits to ensure accuracy of invoicing, receivables, and agreements, as well as other process improvement initiatives as they arise.


You will be coached on accomplishing your responsibilities by the Senior Financial Business Analyst, IP Analyst, and Commercial Agreements Specialist, who will work with you to ensure success, and you will report to the Finance and Operations Manager of Commercialization at UHN.

Qualifications

  • At Minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as science, healthcare, research, finance, or business administration (required)
  • A minimum of 1 year related experience in healthcare, research, law, finance, or administration; experience in a professional environment highly preferred
  • High attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities reliably
  • Advanced skills in statistical analysis and data management software applications (required)
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn; comfortable with learning new systems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work well in a team

Preference will be given to people who are enrolled in a healthcare/business science/information technology related program and those that have previous experience in a healthcare environment.
