About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to actively seek new business opportunities, and engage and build relationships with potential customers (merchants) to help accelerate our current growth. You will find and qualify potential merchants who can benefit from using TBYB on their platforms.

The SDR will report to the Director of Sales and partner with marketing and merchant success in the revenue-generating activities of Blackcart. Our ideal candidate combines exceptional prospecting skills and communication skills; and is a self-starter who has worked in hyper-growth technology companies or startups. Equally important, we are seeking candidates who authentically live and breathe Blackcart values and are inspired by our vision to change eCommerce.

Key Responsibilities

As the SDR, you will be responsible for:
Contact potential prospects through various outreach channels (email, phone calls, LinkedIn)
Conduct research to understand an interested prospect’s business to have meaningful conversations with your contact
Engage in conversation with prospects to discover pain points and present TBYB’s value prop
Schedule meetings with the prospect and a Blackcart Account Executive to continue discovery and demo a TBYB solution
Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
Requirements

Essential

Previous experience as an SDR/BDR or similar role or business/commerce/general graduate who is looking to kick start their career in tech.
Hands-on experience with multiple sales prospecting techniques using phone calls, templated emails, and emails with video and social outreach.
Motivated to complete a high volume of outreach activities to initiate new prospect relationships
Experience working with a CRM, such as Salesforce.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent problem-solving skills in navigating a sales relationship with a prospect to understand their pain points and effectively position a solution
Working foundational knowledge of how SaaS products operate for customers
Track record of achieving sales quotas

Desirable

Experience in the ecommerce industry
Have experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications
Experience with working in a high-growth startup environment
Love animals (It’s likely that our CHOs, Chief Happiness Officers – Harvey and Unagi – will be sitting in on your interview!)
