Position Overview:
The Used Parts Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and growing the used parts profile and delivering customer satisfaction both internally and externally while ensuring that they achieve/exceed all profitability targets set by the business. Developing and maintaining long-term strategic relationships, collaborating with sales representation in assigned region, deal participation, liaising with the marketing team, journey planning, face to face customer visit and CRM adherence will be a key success factor of this role.
Job Description:
  • Work closely with regional parts counters and sales teams to find used parts and attachments that meet customer needs and product support growth strategies.
  • Attend Product Support and Service meetings, visit Finning branches and customers.
  • Work closely with Caterpillar identifying factory bargain list parts and other used parts dealers for parts that will assist internal workshop repairs achieve a higher GP% and to improve our parts availability and provide a value option and/or reduced downtime for customers.
  • Provide procurement recommendations to the corporate used parts manager.
  • Work closely with the branch parts departments to ensure that surplus stock and unwanted parts around the business is identified and sent to / divested through the used parts dept.
  • Attend auctions and network with dealers nationwide to advise items are available that support the needs of Finning and its customers.
  • Identify new sales, business and marketing opportunities to grow and support the used parts business.
  • Develop external customer relationships, both domestic and international, to grow used parts revenue meeting target GP level.
  • Utilize the CRM or equivalent used parts dept. tools and procedures to receive and respond to sales leads.
  • Ensure all sales documents and customer agreements are completed in a consistent, accurate and timely manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of customers, market intelligence and products.
  • Achieve profitable parts and revenue targets based on corporate and territory targets.
  • Develop and maintain long-term internal and external customer/supplier relationships.
Education & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment parts, sales, service or related industry experience
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or other related field would be considered an asset
  • Proficient at time management, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and drive results
  • Strong customer focus and consultative sales skills
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong business acumen
  • A solid understanding of the heavy equipment industry an asset
  • Strong sales process knowledge
Location:
  • The preferred locations are Surrey, Kamloops, Prince George, Calgary, Edmonton and Grande Prairie. However we are open to receiving applications from candidates who reside in other Finning (Canada) locations.
