Job Sales Representative in Ottawa

What you’ll be selling:

Softwash Butler has been in business for 15 years in the National Capital region and provides quality exterior cleaning services for hundreds of government clients, private and public commercial companies and residential home owners. We use leading edge equipment to provide our services. We do a mixture of multi-year contract work as well as one time cleaning jobs. Our crews are experienced and trained in using personnel lifts and specialized equipment which allows us to service virtually any type of building. You will be selling and eventually quoting our suite of exterior cleaning services including:

  • Window cleaning
  • Gutter cleaning
  • Pressure washing
  • Soft washing

What you’ll be doing:

We need a sales executive or territory rep based out of our Kanata office to call on prospective residential clients to either quote new business, upsell existing clients and at some point call on existing accounts. As part of reaching out, you may also need to meet clients in person or conduct site visits (when it makes sense) in the region. Door to door sales will be part of the sales process, usually done in the same neighborhood as existing cleaning technicians to boost the sale.

You will be responsible for working out of Google Sheets/Excel and our CRM to update sales lists and booked jobs. You will also have a weekly sales meeting with the General Manager and/or President to measure results/game plan how we are hitting target revenue.

Typical day would be:

  • Quick morning sales huddle
  • Calling/emailing prospective clients
  • Preparing/sending out site proposals
  • In person site visits when necessary
  • Follow up calls/emails
  • Weekly goal setting and review meeting.

Compensation

  • On Target Earnings are minimum 80K.
  • Bonus commission of 5% on revenue above target paid out year end.

2 Compensation options available based on experience:

  • A negotiated base salary between 40-50K + 5% commission

or

  • Commission starting at 15% of job value before tax and cost of rental equipment.

Goal for OTE

New Sales less rentals of $500,000 for rest of 2023

Need to have

  • 1-2 years minimum sales experience: You need to be comfortable reaching out to prospective clients, finding decision makers and finding needs to be met with our services.
  • 1-2 years related or industry experience either selling or working in janitorial, home services, or commercial services business: You need to know some of the basics of how these companies operate so you can tailor your approach to their business needs/cycles.
  • Comfortable with Google Sheets/Excel
