Job Summary:



The Senior Analyst, Analytics Delivery develops, implements, maintains and supports business intelligence and reporting solutions to grow business intelligence capabilities. As an expert in business intelligence, is a consultative partner to both internal and external stakeholders, providing education, guidance and recommendations for improvement, and for bringing new concepts and methods to the analytic team. Acts as a mentor to other analysts in the adoption and implementation of the best practices in the data and reporting practice area.


Key Accountabilities:

  • As an expert in BI, is a consultative partner to both internal and external stakeholders, providing education, guidance, and recommendations for improvement, and for bringing new concepts and methods to the Analytics team.
  • Develops relevant processes, procedures, and standards within a BI tool environment in order to drive performance and program improvement.
  • Closely collaborates with Client Insights and Analytics Execution teams to understand detailed BI needs and develop solutions that are supporting integrity of the reporting data; to provide feedback and sign off on requirements; and to analyze data, identify new insights and technical capabilities and provide verbal and/or written recommendations used by the Senior Client Insight Partners when compiling insights to be presented to the client.
  • Develops data and or reporting functionality (reports, dashboards) based on requirements; designs, develops and executes queries to access and expose data layers to be used in providing business insights; supervises unit, integration and regression testing.
  • Collaborates with Enterprise Data Warehouse team and other members of the BCLC’s Business Technology teams to support integrated data solutions.
  • Maintains an oversight of the overall model suite to ensure consistency, accuracy and repeatability. Collaborates with Analytics Execution team in creating logical data model and based on it creates physical data models for new solution development in support of the business needs; Ensures data models are fully documented and appropriate data dictionaries are created.
  • Performs user access management to newly developed reporting functionality and/or applications, or initiates and coordinates user access management with other BCLC technical teams.
  • Performs technical maintenance and upgrades to applicable tools.
  • Proactively stays informed of the new technologies or best practices in Business Intelligence and feeds this knowledge back to the team, EBI Director and Managers in order to influence department’s strategic initiatives; develops analytic capabilities through the socialization and dissemination of best-practices, and the creation and maintenance of data models for new solution development in support of the dynamic business needs.
  • Coaches and provides training to the team on business intelligence methods, tools, design, and result, and on advanced reporting and database marketing best practices. Including segmentation, campaign management, core KPI development, and campaign level analysis.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • A degree in computer science, math, economics or business;
  • 4-6 years of related experience in leading the development of business intelligence solutions and working in a BI environment (SAS, Qlikview, Cognos or equivalent tools) with working knowledge of SQL, MS Access, other Database Management tools;
  • Solid expertise in the Business Intelligence processes with good understanding of BI architecture and data models;
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Technical Requirements

  • Proven experience in influencing and helping business stakeholders to frame their business problems and BI needs;
  • Excellent understanding of analytical concepts and problem solving skills;
  • Proven experience in gathering business requirements needed for successfully developing and supporting business intelligence applications;
  • Experienced in data collection, data wrangling, data engineering data analysis and designing reporting solutions including but not limited to dashboards, portals, predictive models, machine learning algorithms and report objects;
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work on multiple priorities;
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills; ability to develop technical documentation and explain complex information in an effective manner;
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, multi-tasking and organizational skills; able to act on own initiative, exercise sound judgment, prioritize tasks; and work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Have a solid BCLC business acumen and a knowledge of gaming industry and BCLC’s suite of games.
