Who We Are:
The Business Analytics team within Fidelity Canada ULC’s finance department supports various business units and the senior executive team with advanced analytical solutions to support decision making. In collaboration with IT, the team works with internal clients on leveraging data, establishing patterns and customer journeys, as well as identifying and communicating significant business trends.
The Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics positions plans, designs, develops, and deploys analytical solutions throughout the organization, while objectively evaluating the effectiveness of various sales and marketing activities using various data mining techniques.
What You Will Do:
- Works with key stakeholders to understand the business problem and translate it into appropriate analytics solution.
- Works independently on complex analyses using machine learning and statistical modelling techniques while leveraging both open source (R/Python, JupyterHub) and proprietary tools (KNIME, RapidMiner)
- Marketing, events, sales campaign analysis (AB tests, Pre vs. Post)
- Works with technology groups to bring models to production and to identify and resolve any data, environment, or implementation issues
- Story telling with the help visualization tools (PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI, R-Shiny etc.)
- Enhance existing data visualization capabilities for Sales, Marketing, Leadership team
- Develop flexible backend and front-end systems to support the modelling, data visualization and analytics solutions
- Date engineering, Ad-hoc data management and periodic reporting
- Sharing of knowledge, best practices with the team including coaching or training in some of deep learning/machine learning methodologies. Provides mentoring, coaching, and consulting advice and guidance to staff, e.g. analytic methodologies, data recommendations
- Evaluates/develops, advance tools, methodologies or infrastructure to support long-term business problems and take the group to the next level, e.g. modelling software, modelling methodologies, data and system requirements, scoring process, optimization environment
What We’re Looking For:
- University degree (Business, Analytics, Math/Statistics or Computer Science related) or related work experience
- 3-5 years of experience employing various statistical modelling and data analysis techniques, such as linear / logistic regression, decision trees, affinity analysis, clustering/segmentation and time series forecasting
- Experience in Marketing and digital analytics using Adobe Stack, Marketo, Google Analytics
- Demonstrated proficiency with enterprise data mining tools like SAS, RapidMiner, KNIME, Alteryx
- Experience with business intelligence software (Tableau, PowerBI, Business Objects, Cognos etc.)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL and PowerPoint
The Expertise You Bring:
- Ability to communicate quantitative data into a visually engaging story Experience applying advanced consumer intelligence / marketing techniques
- Experience deciphering complex data and effectively communicating results to stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills with ability to work in a high performing culture with time sensitive deadlines
- Solid interpersonal and organizational skills combined with the ability to adapt to rapidly changing business environments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; a self-starter with a positive attitude
- Genuine interest in capital markets, financial industry, banking, future state of technology like artificial intelligence & machine learning
The Following Are Assets:
- Knowledge and experience in financial services, with a focus on the investment industry
- Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics or computer science
- Experience in Adobe Analytics, digital analytics, marketing and advertising
- Certification in KNIME, RapidMiner, SAS or SPSS, Snowflake, Tableau
- Experience in working with APIs and real time data connectivity to various service providers
