The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Addiction and Mental Health Division as a Senior Business Analyst.

The Senior Business Analyst will work collaboratively with the Addiction and Mental Health Branch Team, Regional Health Authorities, Health Analytics, and other government partners on the collection of data and information, developing of key performance measures and leading the development of dashboards to assist in the evaluation of performance in the delivery of programs and services to New Brunswickers who suffer from an addiction and mental health illness.

As the Senior Business Analyst you will:

  • Understand the Addiction and Mental Health business processes and information management system workflow, identifying gaps and assist in the development of future improvements for monitoring services;
  • Work collaboratively in the development and implementation of standards within the workflow of services such as data collection requirements for each level of service intensity;
  • Lead the Addiction and Mental Health Indicator Working Group, plus lead and support the development of reports and dashboard requirement specifications for the Stepped Care Model accountability framework;
  • Organize testing and complete result documentation for the Client Service Delivery System (CSDS) Maintenance Team, and/or Shared Analytics Branch. This includes data quality accountability reporting;
  • Review data requests, coordinate, and analyze output, and respond to the requestor;
  • Support the CSDS business owner in completing the application maintenance plan to ensure system changes for new or modified data measures are implemented in a timely manner;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Technology and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Or a 2-year diploma in Applied Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

In the event that this competition poses difficulties in recruiting a qualified candidate, a covering off appointment at a lower level may be made. In that case, candidates with less than the required related years of experience may also be considered.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Project Management experience
  • Data and Information Management experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI

Candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

Salary: $61,828 to $86,372 per annum (Pay Band 5)
