The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of database management systems, with a strong focus on database design, implementation, and optimization. This person will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our databases, as well as designing and implementing new database solutions to meet the needs of our organization.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Perform database maintenance, such as upgrades, patching and migrations.
  • Manage security and access control to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including database design, procedures and standards.
  • Work with development team to ensure database design and schema changes align with application requirements.
  • Develop, test, and ensure quality, production and the use of database latest versions;
  • Follow up and control the performance and status of a specific IT element;
  • Oversee routine tests and analyses of a specific IT element;
  • Apply security correctives as needed;
  • Use software tools and material to diagnose and solve issues/outages;
  • Resolve problems in compliance with the established procedures;
  • Use standard tools and procedures to carry out the established service deliveries and maintenance tasks;
  • Carry out server activities that can be planned (installations, updates, etc.);
  • Respond to clients’ requests based on contractual conditions;
  • Follow ITSM ITIL processes for managing incidents, questions and requests for changes;
  • Ensure the development and update of procedures and documentation;
  • Implement solutions, modifications and installations, and perform maintenance.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the database team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on database design and optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of both SQL Server and Oracle Databases.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of database security concepts and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Experience with cloud-based database platforms (e.g. AWS RDS, Azure SQL) is a plus.
  • Demonstrate practical experience of Oracle 12c/19c administration with RAC, Dataguard and Golden Gate;
  • Good knowledge of major OS - Microsoft, UNIX (AIX, Solaris et Linux) in most recent versions;
  • Demonstrate practical experience with Unix Shell scripts for database tasks automation;
  • Demonstrate experience at SQL optimization and performance tuning;
  • Demonstrate practical experience with MS SQL Server installation, Configuration, and database management;
  • Demonstrate experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration & Management for alerting & reporting;
  • Control and demonstrate practical experience with Oracle Exadata appliances;
  • Need excellent skills in problem analysis and problem resolution;
