Department Overview

The Platforms and Technology organization is comprised of several major departments: Platforms, Practices, Segment Technology, Enterprise Technology and Digital. The overall P&T finance team is responsible for providing financial support, analysis, reporting, guidance and strategic advice and decision support to P&T.

The P&T Investment Management & Costing Team provides end-to-end cost quotation and third-party contract support including development and review of project and contract financials. It also facilitates the P&T Finance Signing Party weekly agenda and provides thought leadership to drive the agenda on productivity and automation with a goal to create capacity and optimize costs.

Job Description

Reporting to the P&T Finance Senior Manager, the successful applicant will prepare, advise, facilitate and challenge the build of financials for technology cost quotations and third party technology contracts, ensuring high quality deliverables and legendary customer experience for our business partners. This role provides end to end third party contract support including facilitating a weekly Signing Party, ensuring requirements are met before presented for approval. This role would be best suited to a high performer and a process oriented individual with strong relationship management, attention to detail and analytical skills. Finally, this position will also be responsible for working closely with other finance partners on the Infrastructure Technology Services (ITS) Finance team as well as Vendor Managers.

Key accountabilities include:
  • Provide direct support and guidance to vendor management and technology partners for the creation and management of cost quotations and contract wrappers
  • Build financials for cost quotations and contract wrappers, using a consistent framework with adherence to Bank policies
  • Create Shareholder Value by identifying cost savings opportunities, challenging assumptions as appropriate, highlighting risks/opportunities/issues that help drive the right investment decisions
  • Deliver strong governance and control with advisory/analytical capabilities in working with our business partners on financials
  • Ability to write concise executive summaries used by Senior Management to help drive Business decisions
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines, asks and priorities
  • Build strong partnerships and trust with Project Managers, Technology Finance, Vendor Management, and other stakeholder groups
  • Champion continuous improvement of reporting and processes
  • Promote a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, innovation, creativity, analysis and advice

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Competencies/Accreditation
  • Excellent analytical, problem-resolution, and organizational skills are required – able to provide clear and concise summaries of relevant data, observations and recommendations to management (turns complexity into simplicity)
  • High degree of attention for detail (validation and cross-checking data points to ensure accuracy) with above average organizational skills
  • Process-oriented with a focus on development, improvement/enhancement and transparency
  • Ability to effectively work under tight timelines and prioritize multiple deliverables to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Strong Business acumen
  • Can-do attitude
  • Adaptable to a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Understanding and appreciating different and opposing perspectives.
  • Previous experience in effective stakeholder management; proven ability to work effectively with teams and individually
  • Agility and speed to proactively identify and resolve issues and manage conflict through positive negotiation
  • Strong MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SharePoint skills, with advanced competency level with MS Excel
  • Expertise in accounting guidelines and rules with understanding the financial components of a business case (CASH and P&L Views) is an asset
  • Previous experience in planning, forecasting, expense management, consolidations activities and financial analysis is an asset
  • University degree, preferably with an accounting designation
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
