As a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) within our team, you will be a key finance partner, leveraging your expert knowledge in financial analysis and forecasting, you will provide dynamic and timely insights for our key stakeholders, identifying risks and opportunities within the business and driving TELUS profitability. Here's how


Each day you will bring your A-game to the field of Finance and will include recurring accountability for:


  • Your assigned CAF portfolio, collaborating with your stakeholders and leading month-end close, reporting and forecasting processes, translating results into a story that enables key business discussion and decisions
  • Working closely with your team members and controller to identify, communicate and mitigate financial risks both within your portfolio, and across the broader CAF and TELUS Finance business unit
  • Analyzing past results, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve our forecasts and processes
  • Priming your portfolio’s forecast, which includes all operating expenses and headcount planning
  • Priming your portfolio’s Annual Budget & Strat Check (long-term model) including operating expenses and headcount planning
  • Working closely with your controller, leading consolidation month-end reporting processes and reconciliations

  • Develop a strong understanding of business processes and operations to create and present organizational information and financial reports to senior leadership, including TELUS Vice Presidents & Directors
  • Identify, develop and implement process improvements related to OpEx management, consolidated reporting and how large data sets are presented to our stakeholders in a meaningful way
  • Provide insightful analysis and decision support for ad hoc requests from stakeholder across TELUS
  • Support the controller with maintaining SAP and Hyperion hierarchies
  • Comfortable working autonomously, sometimes under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Recognize and lead implementation of new reporting tools, automation solutions and other technology-driven process improvements across the Finance Enabler team

Great-to-haves


  • Completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required with post-qualification experience preferred
  • Experience with month-end close work, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations and controls monitoring & remediation
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant analytical experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite toolset (must include Excel and VBA would be an asset)
  • Good understanding of workflow to be able to translate business needs into an RPA solution and other automation tools
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion
