We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Front End Developer to be a versatile team member, accountable for the design, assessment, development, implementation, configuration, and testing of robust new front-end features and functionality for OLG Digital business. This role will require strong experience in programming and application analysis with focus on building RESTful API`s and integrating them with cloud services. Collaborates with stakeholders across OLG to ensure that the application/infrastructure solution designs and developments drive the desired business results.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Solution Development, you will be empowered to:
- Develop enterprise applications using AEM this will include developing templates, data, and components
- Maintain a robust Backend-for-Frontend middleware layer based on Node.js
- Develop and configure integrations in addition to conducting unit testing and technical fixes during subsequent testing etc.
- Design and maintain complex integrations with various backend services using HTTP APIs
- Develop and deploy proof of concepts, prototypes and sanity tests leveraging agile methodologies and tools
- Develop and maintain code and configuration repositories and pipelines using Azure DevOps to ensure code is centrally monitored/managed
- Develop interfaces with an eye toward high accessibility standards (AODA & WCAG 2.0)
- Evaluate and determine optimal toolsets to support all activities of this role including automating the CICD pipeline
- Provide tier three (3) application support, including on call support as required to ensure that issues are resolved in a timely manner
- AEM 6.5 sites configuration and set-up
- Scope work needed to complete, estimate timelines, and architect solutions
- Constantly seek to optimize live applications to continuously improve speed and scalability
- Design, configure and develop visually appealing Vue.js-based AEM templates, components, permissions, and policies to deliver high quality front-end architecture (web & mobile)
- Support the change and release management process (ITIL) including defining release strategy & associated task planning for change projects, service readiness & acceptance and service transition
- Identify potential solution risks/issues and escalates/communicates to relevant key stakeholders (business/technology/vendors) to ensure a mitigation strategy is developed
- Prepare documentation and other relevant information to transition to the operate team for business as usual
- Conduct changes required to existing systems (e.g., upgrade/new releases, optimization)
- Experience with AEM building blocks including templates, components, dialogs, widgets, and bundles
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Work collaboratively within an Agile environment
CROSS FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Works in close partnership with the lab team and product owners to gather and understand business requirements.
- Interacts with Technology and Operations partners to share and align on standards, best practices and emerging trends on Dev/Ops and Agile methodology.
- Works with 3rd party or contracted resources or external technology vendors to collaborate and jointly develop solutions.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Work Experience: 5+ years of experience building and maintaining transactional web application frontends based on Vue.js or similar modern JavaScript framework. Minimum six (6) years’ progressive experience in medium to large IT environments including experience in within IT or related function. Minimum of four (4) years' experience in solution application/infrastructure design, development and/or delivery. Providing Subject Matter Expertise and/or guidance to the team.
Knowledge: Competent in designing and developing user interfaces and Single Page Apps (SPA) leveraging VueJS (or ReactJS) best practices and adapting interfaces for mobile, web, and apps. Fundamental understanding of coding/dev and working knowledge of different programming languages and frameworks:
- Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
- JavaScript / ECMAScript / TypeScript

- HTTP APIs using JSON serialization
- Azure DevOps
