Position Overview:
The Senior Marketing Analytics Manager leads and manages Finning’s Global Marketing Analytics Services and Operations across both strategic roadmap planning, execution and day-to-day operations that support a global team to deliver on a broad range of strategic business priorities. The team is a key enabler and driver of capabilities to Finning’s global teams.

The individual is a key partner of the global Marketing Transformation & Digital team and is responsible to lead and support teams (internal and vendors) in all aspects of Marketing Data and Website analytics; strategy and operations, data design, implementation, analysis, reporting, digital optimization (A/B testing), data collection (tag management), across both Finning’s digital eco-system of websites and platforms and partner with leaders across Marketing, Product management, eCommerce, Engineering, UX, Marketing, and Engineering.

The individual is accountable to grow the Marketing Analytics practice across teams to build greater adoption and a culture of a data-driven mindset. In addition, accountabilities will focus on priority areas of Sales & Marketing Excellence, and manage the growth of Marketing Analytics CoE across core areas of measurement, technology, operations, governance, training and education, change management and best practices.

The individual manages and collaborates with both internal teams and vendors, and comfortable as the platform administrator for Adobe Analytics, Adobe Launch, Adobe Target. Bonus platforms include Microsoft Azure, Observpoint, HotJar and related MarTechs.

The individual is a Marketing technologist who is a consultant to business stakeholders and a storyteller of data and analytics to lead change management areas that build greater awareness and knowledge, desire and adoption and grow Finning’s data-driven Marketing culture.

Job Description:
Team Overview
  • Strategy & Planning: Lead the strategic roadmap planning of the Marketing data and analytics function that aligns with the annual business and team (Marketing Transformation Team) objectives. Continually evolves the strategy development and implements comprehensive digital analytics strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives.
  • Projects: Lead and support project-based initiatives where Marketing data and analytics either supports the broader project, and direct driven projects from the Marketing team. This may include new Website analytic planning and implementation, global Marketing reporting and attribution model, Marketing value-streams that improve agility and acceleration (ex. online reporting), efficiencies, effectiveness, and more.
  • Team: Lead a vendor team of analysts, implementation engineers and optimization specialists in the collection and analysis of digital analytics data.
  • Team: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Digital Marketing, Product management, eCommerce, UX, Data & Engineering, to identify opportunities for improving the data quality, support commercial marketing and sales programs, and improving the customer experience to drive business growth through data-driven insights and data orchestration.
  • Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Marketing Analytics shared-services model to support service and support requests from the global business.
  • Operations: Manage the teams CoE operating model across technology, measurement, change management (ex. adoption), best practices, operations, governance, training and education. The goal to evolve the teams to a data-driven mindset and the continuous adoption of data and analytics to inform both business decisions, and execute Sales & Marketing programs.
Planning
  • Lead and manage the Marketing Transformation teams annual strategic roadmap of Marketing data and analytics
  • Lead the development and implementation of key metrics and Marketing KPI insights program to arm teams with strategic insights, optimize Sales & Marketing Excellence programs, and enable data-driven Marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Lead, plan, manage and support the end-to-end Marketing and Website data and analytics (research, plan, build, implement, run) of Finning’s global website eco-system; Finning.com, CUBIQ, PCC (eCommerce), Rollo, etc. and all marketing data initiatives.
Operations
  • Manage the global Marketing Analytic services that support global teams across Marketing and Website analytics, personalization, data management, tagging, troubleshooting, governance and training.
  • Global governance across web analytics and digital marketing data implementation, QA, UAT, documentation and auditing.
  • Lead the planning and build for Marketing reporting and data visualization (ex. dashboards), support analysis and present key findings and insights to team leads.
  • Consultant and BA function to a broad range of business stakeholders to steer and translate business needs and requirements into technical web analytic scope of requirements.
  • Manage the processes and implementation of Marketing data capture, storage, usage, and tracking that support digital marketing initiatives; both current and future.

Marketing & Web Analytics
  • Shared Services Support: Lead and manage the global operations of Marketing data and analytics shared services that support Web Analytics (Adobe Analytics) across planning, build, execution, sustainment and governance
  • Adobe Analytics training and education (grow adoption and utilization)
  • QA and troubleshooting
  • Personalization (ex. Adobe Target) setup (experiments and experiences) including data-layer requirements
  • Governance (ex. audit, documentation), reporting and visualization, analysis and insights, and Observpoint (ex. journey analytics governance).
Marketing Analysis
  • Marketing Prime supporting multiple teams and departments for project and adhoc business and technical analysis needs
  • Support reporting and data visualization, analysis and insights on goal performance, while storytelling and presenting key findings to team Leads.
  • The advocate and storyteller of data-driven insight to champion a step-change to build a data-driven culture and embed Marketing data and analytics into teams’ operations.
MarTech Platform Admin
  • Marketing technology lead and admin management over Adobe Analytics, Adobe Launch, Adobe Target, Observpoint, Google Analytics, Azure marketing environment, other 3rd party marketing platforms/tools
  • Tag management of tagging framework, auditing and QA support
  • Ensure data integrity & documentation of tracking standards (governance)
Reporting & Insights
  • Plan, build and run data reports, data-visualization in Adobe Analytics and business apps. (ex. Google Data Studio, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data, and lead a plan-of-action with teams to enable and test and learn (ex. Performance Optimization practice)
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, in a clear and actionable manner
Support Administration
  • Global service desk support
  • Troubleshooting (ex. tracking, data and analytic issues)
  • Tag and tracking management
Accountability:
  • Accountable for the Web and Marketing Analytics Centre of Excellence (COE) covering:
    • Technologies: Adobe Analytics, Launch, Target, Observpoint, etc.
    • Measurement: Planning, aggregation, transformation, orchestration, reporting, analysis and insights
    • Operations: Support the day-to-day service desk tickets for internal stakeholders
    • Governance; documentation, process, etc.
    • Training and education: 1:1 and group ‘master class’ settings
    • Change management: The champion to create more awareness, desire, knowledge, to attain adoption.
  • Accountable as platform administrator of Adobe Analytics, Launch, Target and Google Analytics, across global administration, governance, user management, system updates, etc.
  • Responsible to manage the day-to-day operations of internal customer support of Marketing Analytics services; ranging from consultation, planning, technical build and implementation, and reporting.
  • Accountable to consult and liaison with business stakeholders to translate to recommendations and technical deliverables
  • Responsible to lead and deliver the strategic Marketing Data & Analytics strategic roadmap
  • Accountable to manage vendor support, priorities, and their deliverables.
Specific Skills for the Role:
  • Management: Experience managing Operation teams or service-support teams; ticket management, prioritization, customer communications, SLA’s, etc.
  • Management: Experience as the translator between business stakeholders and technical implementation / development teams.
  • Management: Stakeholder management skills, including strong communication
  • Technical Ops: MarTech Platform Analytics experience:
    • Primary: Adobe Analytics (or deep Google Analytics)
    • Secondary: Adobe Target, Adobe Launch
    • Bonus: Microsoft Azure or similar web services data environment
  • Technical Ops: Experience working with tagging technologies (ex. DTM or Launch, GTM or similar)
  • Technical Ops: Experience with the technical website analytics requirements; metrics and data definition, SDR, dimensions, eVars, data-layer, etc.
  • Technical Ops: Experience on technical architecture/framework of analytical eco-system(s).
  • Techpreneurship: Experience conceiving or supporting the plan, build and delivery of Website analytics and Marketing data solutions Marketing and Sales
  • Data & Engineering: Experience or familiarity with data engineering; data preparation, aggregation, modeling, structure/transform, and orchestrate (ex. API, ETL/FTP or similar data pipeline)
  • Reporting: Expertise in creating reporting dashboards in Adobe Analytics, and transforming data from multiple sources
  • Reporting: Experience with visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation
  • Reporting: Experience presenting reports and strategic recommendations to clients or internal teams
  • Governance: Experience with data and analytics governance; writing technical documentation for a medium/large scale commercial website

Education & Qualification:
  • Subject matter expert with total experience between 5-8 years with minimum +4 years using Adobe Analytics Suite (or secondary, Google Analytics)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience working with Digital marketing data-driven teams with a strong understanding and ability to translate core marketing data needs to operationalized both Marketing Technologies (ex. data-driven marketing) and Insights (reporting and analysis)
  • Bonus: Data and engineering experience;

Knowledge (Preferred but not mandatory):
  • SME (subject matter expert) on Adobe Analytics Suite covering web analytics planning and modeling, technical implementation (website front-end and back-end platform), management and report building and analysis.
