As a Senior Pricing Analyst working as part of the global Pricing Centre of Excellence (PCoE), you will be responsible for producing pricing analysis to support the successful design and development of Thomson Reuters pricing approach across our product portfolio. In this role, you will own the development of new and innovative flexible pricing models and reporting that can be used consistently across the business and help the business understand pricing and performance and aid in better decision making. Supported by other Pricing Analysts, you will conduct pricing research and keep informed on pricing analysis methods and industry trends to help develop high impact value-based pricing strategies. The Senior Pricing Analyst will partner closely with Commercial Excellence, Product, Product Marketing and Finance teams to ensure we effectively implement our pricing strategies as well as identifying and monitoring metrics to measure the impact of specified pricing actions. As part of the Standards and Frameworks group, you will focus your efforts on standardised and repeatable analytics, modelling and reporting that can be used consistently across the business and support the development of templates and workflows that other teams can utilise to produce similar reporting from their unique data systems. Part of this role will also involve the communication, training and implementation of those standards across the PCoE at all staff levels.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will:

  • Create and develop flexible pricing models that can be used across the business and help promote a consistent understanding of price across the business and the rest of the PCoE
  • Lead workstreams supporting the development, execution and maintenance of pricing models, price books and discount guidelines and collaborate across functions to ensure these are effectively and consistently delivered through the various teams and systems at TR
  • Define and develop standardised price performance reporting that can be used across the TR portfolio; Investigate, explain and resolve anomalies in the results; prepare and present findings and actionable insights to improve the effectiveness of pricing actions
  • Support the definition of best practices in pricing research, analysis and modelling as well as interpreting the results to help gain insight into market trends, customer engagement, pricing strategies, willingness to pay and price elasticity, product/price positioning, feature/price trade-offs and model the impact of different pricing strategies on profitability
  • Lead and support the creation of consistent pricing policies, models, standards and best practices to be used consistently across the PCoE and across the TR portfolio of products
  • Support the financial & commercial validation of pricing proposals for strategic projects & provide objective analysis comparing the outcomes of different pricing strategies
  • Collaborate across functions and the PCoE on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies, whilst defining and employing best practices
  • Provide support and help train junior Pricing Analysts encouraging consistency and best practice across the PCoE
  • Help to provide thought leadership for pricing across the business

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Senior Pricing Analyst if your background includes:

  • 4+ years of experience in pricing strategy & execution for B2B companies, preferably SaaS
  • Experience in setting and executing strategic and tactical pricing to drive performance in technology intensive industries
  • Insight led, with capability to obtain, interpret and combine customer and market research alongside data analytics to provide a recommended course of action
  • Ability to translate complicated data into simple visualization stories and communicate those stories to drive actions in professionals without pricing experience
  • Influencing multiple stakeholders, including senior management, by communicating clearly and persuasively, despite competing priorities
  • Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau, Business Objects and/or SQL required
  • Project management experience expected
