Responsibilities and Deliverables:

As a Senior QA Analyst, BI, your responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

• Review requirements and technical design documents with developers to confirm expected functionality and business needs.

• Develop test cases and scenarios.

• Determine test environment and test data requirements.

• Must be able to communicate with leads regarding project readiness, status and potential risks. Document, quantify, and elevate risks as appropriate.

• Provide statistical reporting and analysis as necessary.

• Tracks and coordinates defect resolution and retesting quantifying and mitigating risk accordingly.

• Enthusiastically collaborates with business partners to ensure data and reporting requirements are fulfilled.

• Participate in discovery meetings, provide estimates, analyze and validate project requirements and technical specifications, perform impact analysis and document key issues.

• Resolve issues found in testing and develop benchmarks for testing data and provide metrics reporting on test execution and defects.

• Drive BI testing including Functional Testing, Results validation, Regression Testing, System, Integration Testing, Automated Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

• Provide timely & effective communication to the Test Lead relating to quality, resource & project issues and concerns.

Required Experience:

• Diploma or Bachelors in Computer Science or related area of study.

• 5-7 years of experience working with SQL (writing complex queries).

• 5-7 years of hands-on QA work experience as part of BI team

• Knowledge of data mining, and statistical analysis

• Experience working with development teams from the initial development of business requirements, through all the development/testing steps and providing on-going maintenance and support.

• Ability to analyze the root cause of a problem and demonstrate good sense when handing the problem over to development.

• Ability of going through the business logic, get the source data, apply the business logic (manually or script) and create baselines.

• Knowledge of Software testing processes and automated tools, with an ability to apply software testing methods and techniques in a business intelligence environment.

• Strong experience in writing advanced SQL statements in order to test data loads and Knowledge of relational databases - can navigate and extract data as necessary

• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, both orally and in writing, while also articulating and translating technical language to non-technical customers.

• Assimilates information quickly, communicate complex requirements and issues clearly and concisely.

• Experience in Data Warehouse, BI reports, ETL Verification

• Experience with web application testing.

• Experience with API testing.

• Experience with issue tracking systems such as JIRA.

• Experience with source control systems such as VSTS.

• Experience using SQL Server and writing SQL queries.

• Experience with scripting or programming language(s).

• SDLC experience using agile methodologies.

• Experience with Scala programming an asset

• Relation/Dimensional basics.

• Experience reading and following SSIS packages (nice to have).

• Experience with Tabular model plug-in for Excel (nice to have)

• Experience Power BI (nice to have).

• Experience in lending services (nice to have).
