Meet our team:

We are Health Platform Engineering team which is a part of larger SRE organization within PayPal. The primary goal of this team is to use automation, self-service and scalable approaches to bring simplified and standardized platform experiences into the lives of PayPal developers and leaders

Your way to impact:

In this role you will contribute towards building and maintaining a highly reliable, performing, secure, and scalable infrastructure. You will enable the PD teams to solve their operational problems through Automation (Operation as Code). You will have a direct impact on improving observability for various Brands under PayPal organization through the Enterprise Health Dashboard.

Your day to day:

In your day-to-day role you will be

  • Building platform solutions to enhance automation and reduce human intervention as much as possible.

  • Maintaining and enhancing the Operation as Code (OaC) platform which enables the PD teams to solve their operational problems through code.

  • Collaborating with other software engineers and customers in managing and maintaining the new features and enhancements needed.

  • Enhancing the user experience on the platform and products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide inputs to improve the product.

  • Participating in code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in DevOps

What do you need to bring :

  • A successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in software development or operations.

  • Expertise with at least one programming language required – Java, C/C++, Python, Golang.

  • Strong Experience with front end technologies like Javascript, Nodejs, React preferred.

  • Experience with database concepts (SQL or NO SQL) required.

  • Experience with GitOps and OaC preferred with demonstrable knowledge of Terraform, Jenkins, Artifactory, a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure/cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure) preferred.

  • Deep understanding and working knowledge of networking principles, internet fundamentals, Operating Systems, and application stack.

  • Excellent troubleshooting, debugging and problem-solving skills required.

  • Experience working in Agile methodology preferred
