We looking to hire a Social Media Manager to oversee all our social platforms (Meta, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube). The successful candidate will be an integral member of the marketing team while leading and partnering with other creative teams across the organization. This person would engage and manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, possess project management experience with the drive to ensure timely execution of projects. Ultimately, the Social Media Manager will ensure we are driving engagement on our channels while executing excellence on all touchpoints of the business.
Reporting directly to the Sr. Marketing Manager, Brand the ideal candidate will have a positive mindset and willingness to lead by example.
The Social Media Manager for Roots will be responsible for the following:
STRATEGIC
- Develop and own the organic social media strategy, ensuring that it contributes to the achievement of business goals. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to complement the strategy.
- Create a robust content plan and calendar that incorporates input from key stakeholders (Marketing, Product, Special projects, etc.), to produce a unified and coherent social presence across platforms.
- Conduct competitive and platform analysis to stay on top of the dynamic social media ecosystem. Leverage benchmarks and best practices and test new ideas to continuously move the strategy forward.
- As an expert in your space, keep abreast of social media trends and update the business where needed as these trends or shifts may affect performance (positive or negative)
- Develop and own key relationships with social platforms: Meta, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube.
- Use social media marketing tools for posting: Dash Hudson, Canva and Monday.com
- Translate Marketing briefs into compelling and engaging content concepts and tactical plans.
- Lead the social content development process, liaising with Production and Creative teams as needed to bring content to life that is on-time, on brand, and platform relevant. This includes the creation of briefs and strategic documents.
- Deliver ongoing weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to track the performance against the strategy and KPIs. Communicate to key stakeholders’ key learnings and actions/opportunities.
- Own and efficiently administrate the organic social budget (incl. boosting content, influencer marketing, and other social led activations)
- Establish relationships with social media influencers and develop a strong network.
- Partner with PR and Paid to execute the Influencer strategy, owning execution of organic social influencer programming (influencer identification, samples, budget, content vetting/approval, etc.)
- Help support online community management with the Social Media Coordinator.
- Develop and manage an asset bank for Social First Creative
- Manage the META shop catalog.
- Manage the Social Media Assistant, providing approvals, guidance, coaching and development.
- University or College degree or diploma in marketing or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in social media in a consumer brand building environment, including Influencer marketing
- Experience pitching strategic strategies to external partners for buy-in
- Passion for ROOTS, retail, and the outdoors along with a background in developing brands.
- Strong understanding of consumers and media consumption habits along with target audiences/consumer profiling and devising strategies that engage, inform, and drive the business.
- Understands and relishes the opportunity to work with a cross functional team.
- Self-starter with strong project management skills and the ability to lead and direct internal and external teams.

- Social Media certification would be an asset.
- Experience as a copywriter considered an asset.
- Experience in the Fashion industry considered an asset, however an interest in fashion is a must!
- Established relationships with key social platforms would be an asset in this role.
- Creative and strategic thinker with experience executing content creation, storytelling, media planning and social/digital.
