We are seeking a qualified truck driver/operator to support the multiple projects that The Loomex Group manages. The positions will be based out of our office in Kingston, Ontario, but may be required to work from other company job-sites as required. The truck driver/operator will be managing the pick-up and delivery of job-site supplies, operating dump trucks and running dump loads for job sites, as well as operating heavy equipment.

What you'll do...

  • Support ongoing projects within the organization, including projects in Kingston, Peterborough, and the surrounding areas Drive large vehicles, including transports and dump trucks Operate heavy equipment (primarily loaders, backhoes, skid steers and excavators)
  • Monitor vehicle conditions and perform regular inspections of tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment as needed
  • Report and log all equipment maintenance requirements or concerns on a regular basis
  • Manage documentation (such as accident reports or incident reports)
  • Maintain safety both on and off project sites and in the process of transporting goods and dump loads

What you'll bring to the table

  • Completed high school education or equivalency
  • A valid DZ license is a requirement
  • Experience running loads in transport trucks, operating dump trucks, etc.
  • Two (2) years of experience driving trucks
  • Must have experience with operating manual dump trucks Experience with operating heavy equipment (primarily loaders, backhoes, skid steers, and excavators)
  • Must have and maintain a clean driver’s abstract
  • A valid criminal record check
  • A valid form of government-issued photo identification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • AZ license would be an asset

Working Conditions

  • Varied shift schedule (40 hours a week)
  • Occasional evenings and weekends will be required
  • Based out of Kingston, ON, with frequent travel to and from Peterborough and the surrounding areas
  • Independent trips for job sites, including deliveries, pick-ups and running dump loads

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
